This one was a small passion project of mine. In the summer of 2020 I moved back to the apartment where I grew up in Brazil, and decided to create an illustration that showcased some of the interesting figures that lived in the building back in the day (or at least my childhood-induced exaggerated impression of them) plus some pop culture, and to frame it in the living room.
The layout was inspired by a photo of a popular Instagram photographer (see below), and the colors followed my apartment's color palette. The name Jambalaya is a reference to a Brazilian TV show of the 2000's about a very tumultuous building and its tenants. Click on the illustration to zoom in and see the details.
